"Drawing (wash), An Officer Around 1820."
Restoration period ink wash, circa 1820, probably representing a bust of an infantry colonel, dressed in his uniform. This character must be identifiable, because his coat of arms is present in the upper left corner. He has two decorations, certainly the Legion of Honor and the Grand Cross of St Louis or St Michel. Very good general condition. We see very small blue traces in places, probably the color of the paper supporting the work. Period frame with palmette (repeated with gilding). Total dimensions: 42.5 x 34 cm, and 15.5 x 11.5 cm at sight
