"Tsakli représentant Hayagriva, Bouddhisme tibétain, 19e Siècle - Tibet "
The tsakli (or "tsakalis") is a Tibetan miniature painting used as an initiation card in Buddhist rituals and for training monks. An inscription in black ink on the back of the card identifies the deity represented.
Our painting represents Hayagriva, protector of Tibetan Buddhist teachings.
The card is, as is often the case, in used condition, with some minor polychromatic flaws.
Tibet, 19th century.
