Our drawing is an illustration project for Hamlet and Guildenstern, it presents some variations with lithography.
Passionate about Shakespeare and especially the character of Hamlet, Delacroix attended numerous theatrical performances during a trip to London in 1825. He illustrated several plays by Shakespeare between 1834 and 1859.
