Note on the artist
Born in Berlin, Coming from an artistic background, he taught painting and landscape at the School of Decorative Arts of Strasbourg from 1892 to 1924. From 1908 to his death, he was head of the decoration workshop at the Municipal Theater of Strasbourg, where he collaborated with the conductor Hans Pfitzner His works are kept mainly at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg, also in the same city at the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings and at the National and University Library.
