Devé Eugène (1826 - 1887) was born in Rouen, initially did administrative studies, but then changed his mind
and turned towards artistic studies.

He was a pupil of Camille Flers and began exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes de Paris from 1861.
He poetically painted landscapes of flocks and shepherds surrounded by nature.

The oil painting is dressed with a beautiful gilded frame in pure gold leaf coeval with the work.
The antique painting and the gilded frame are carefully and professionally restored.
