From from a family of artists, he is the son and student of the sculptor Auguste Van Den Kerckhove. Active from 1880, he acquired significant fame in the field of sculpture. After a stay in London, he moved to Paris from 1890 to 1910. Specializing in busts, Antoine Nelson is also distinguished by his sculptures of people and monuments. His work is recognized for its finesse and realism. He participates in numerous exhibitions, both in Belgium and abroad, where he receives rave reviews. His work reflects great technical mastery and notable artistic sensitivity. In addition to his busts, he created several memorials and public sculptures.
