Louise Alix (1888-1980) Village in Corsica, circa 1930, oil on canvas, 46 x 55 cmsigned lower left. Stamp of the Louise Alix workshop sale on the back. Born in Paris in 1888, Louise Alix, painter of landscapes, still lifes and portraits, studied with Yvonne Delattre and Henri Zo. She exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1926 and 1941, receiving a citation in 1928, the Bernheim de Villiers prize in 1933 and the silver medal for applied arts in 1935. She also exhibited her works at the Salon des Indépendants.
