A very elegant planter in the shape of an oval basket. Giroux (Maison Alphonse Giroux et Cie), Maison Giroux was founded by François-Simon-Alphonse Giroux in 1799 at 7 rue du Coq-Saint-Honoré, Paris. Their boutique specializing in luxury products and curiosities. François oversaw the production and design of small furniture until his death in 1848. He won the Prix de Rome in 1825 and a silver medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1834. Led by Giroux's sons, Alphonse- Gustave and André, the business prospered and became one of the main Parisian Maisons de Haute Luxe (luxury stores) in the late 1860s.
