"Important 19th Century Brooch In The Spirit Of Wiese Or Froment Meurice (unsigned)"
Very beautiful 19th century brooch in the spirit (or of?......) of Jules Wiese, or Froment Meurice.......Unsigned It is a French work which represents a bird defending its nest a snake, with vine leaves (in silver and vermeil), on a Malachite background. The subject and the Malachite are in perfect condition. The eggs of the nest represented in small pearls are present. The surround is in 18 carat gold (eagle's head). 2 small florets are missing, and in places the patterns are sunken (but nothing too bad overall). The pin is metal and has been changed. The brooch measures 5 cm x 4 cm.
