"Pinon Jacques 1927-2018 Montluçon, Stained Glass Artist Collaborating With Le Corbusier "
Large oil on canvas from its stained glass period (the best in my opinion and the most sought after). Format 100/65 cm good condition, signed several times and titled on the back "large trees in the setting sun" dated: December 62 January 63, other titles are mentioned. Jacques Pinon, 1927-2018 Montluçon. A true jack of all trades, like the Renaissance artists, painting, sculpture, stained glass, tapestry (Aubusson)...etc... He notably collaborated with Le Corbusier and Lucien Hervé for the stained glass windows of the Ste Thérèse church, monumental frescoes or metal furniture. He also designed contemporary tapestries in Aubusson in the workshops of R. Picaud where Calder, Aujame, Braque, Toffoli worked... with a beautiful meeting with Cocteau and his adopted son Lhermitte. For painting: a major exhibition in Paris in 1954. “Jazz.Hot” alongside S. Dali, Courtaud, the Delaunays, Dubuffet, Duffy, F. Leger, Mondrian… whose influence we feel in his work, Exhibition Museum of Modern Art – Sacred Art Salon in 1960 in Paris – Fondation the Salomon – Guggenhem Museum in New York, Fondation Royaumont...etc... We can imagine characters in an abstract decor which is entirely reminiscent of the stained glass windows of a church.
