Auguste Paul Charles Anastasi, French landscaper and lithographer, born in Paris on November 15, 1820, died in the same city on March 15 1889. He was a student of Delacroix, Corot and Delaroche. He painted very pretty landscapes around Paris, Rome, Normandy, Holland, and lithographs. One of his views of Italy, the terrace of the Villa Pamphili, was purchased from him by the government for the Luxembourg Museum in 1864. A few years later, the unfortunate artist, already suffering from an eye disease, became completely blind. A sale of his works, organized by his comrades, produced a sum necessary to protect him from want until his death.
