Rare oil on canvas by Paul Gelibert, this artist who "never had as his master anything but the view of our beautiful mountains" exhibited regularly in Paris, from 1835 to 1880. His works have as their subject Pyrenean landscapes, as well as herds, bears and various animals populating this region. He is installed in Bagneres-de-Bigorre then in Pau, occasionally in Bordeaux or Toulouse. Dimensions of the work with magnificent gilded frame 63x48 and without 51x 37.
