View of the city of Athens, the Acropolis and the Olympeion, large engraving entirely enhanced with watercolor and gouache from the beginning of the 19th century. (See photos).
This engraving is at the Museum Benaki in Athens.
After Louis-François Cassas, French designer, painter, engraver and orientalist born June 3, 1756 in Azay-le-Ferron (Indre) and died in Versailles November 1, 1827. (See photo).
On the back this old inscription: "watercolor by Weber around 1822". This is undoubtedly the name of the artist who enhanced this line engraving with watercolor.
