Gabbeh Nomad Rug

Gabbeh rugs are often simply patterned and not particularly detailed.
However, these are the most famous nomadic carpets in Iran. Gabbeh rugs are knotted by the nomads of the Ghashghai tribe in the Fars province of Iran.
The base material is hand-spun wool, which is then dyed with natural colors obtained from plants and minerals.
They are relatively thick, up to 2.5 cm thick.

In Persian, Gabbeh means raw or natural. The perfect name for these nomadic rugs, whose design is limited to the essentials.
There is often a simple plant or animal motif on the rug, such as camels or trees. These patterns are inspired by the daily life of the surrounding nomads.
On this model, the design is rather timeless with bright colors.
