"Portable Copper Binnacle Marine Compass "
Signed Riccardo Ferluga, Trieste (Italy), this compass from the first half of the 20th century is fixed on a wooden base, probably teak, at the top, a ring allowing this binnacle to be moved or suspended. Inside, you will find its compass surrounded by two rings fixed on opposite axes to allow the compass to remain horizontal despite the swell. On the side, a small niche for the oil lamp provides lighting throughout.
