Louis Marius Gueït (1877-1956): “Landes Landscape”, watercolor 30 Trace of almost erased pen signature at the bottom left. He was a student of Louis Cabié, but knew how to distinguish himself from his Master with a freer, more sensitive touch, marvelously rendering the Dordogne and the Arcachon Basin, the Basque Country or, as here, the Landes. It is probably the Courant d'Huchet which connects the Léon pond to the Ocean, winding between the dunes when it approaches its mouth.
