"Edouard Brun Mountain Painter Lac Du Riffel"
Riffel Lake painted on canvas cardboard by Édouard Brun (1860-1935). Edouard Brun was born in 1860 in Grenoble where he received his first training in painting from Father Guetal. Exhibiting in Paris, Saint Petersburg, Turin and London, he joined the society of mountain painters in 1903. He also painted large paintings representing mountain landscapes. He died in 1935 in Saint Vincent-de-Mercuze. The painting is signed lower left, framed in a molded wooden frame painted white and measures 32.2x49.2 cm without frame.
