Charming and old box in solid Dutch silver.

The box is square, finely guilloché with wavelets on both sides.

The box is hallmarked:
. Lion in a hexagon, for 833/°° silver, used in the Netherlands between 1814 and 1953
. Date letter H in a circle for the year 1842
. Goldsmith's mark to identify GC (?) with a lying lion (?)
. Various hallmarks can be read: female head turned to the left; two very faded square punches.

Magnificent box, finely guilloché and very early!
