Magnificent painting representing a meal of the Cardinals in a richly furnished Louis XV interior, in full conversation, on its original canvas and with a sumptuous Louis XV frame with openwork shells in gilded stucco from the Napoleon III period, signed lower right. Genre painter and great specialist in representations of Cardinals, he was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français where he exhibited since 1892. He also exhibited in Monte Carlo, Antwerp, London, the USA and Germany. His paintings, meticulously executed, evoke the comfortable existence of the Cardinals, lovers of the Arts and good food.
