And followed by a Historical Journal of what happened at this august ceremony. Paris, 1775. 1 vol. in-8°, blond rooted calf, smooth spine decorated with roulette and gilded vases, and two gilded boxes with a gilded trellis loaded with golden flowers, fillet, rat's teeth and gilded roulette in framing on the boards, golden roulette on the cuts, slices speckled with red. Beautiful copy. Frontispiece, 5 folded inset plates, 39 costume plates, 13 headers and 1 medal vignette engraved by Patas, xvj pp. (front. included), 190 p. Second edition, published the same year as the original edition. It is more extensive than the first, but does not include either the coat of arms plate or the plan of Reims which appeared in the first. It is decorated with nine beautiful filled plates which illustrate the different stages of the coronation and 39 plates which represent the costumes of the different dignitaries for the coronation.
