"Zoomorphic Sliced Fossil Wood – Miocene Of Hungary"
Slice of fossil wood (or petrified wood) sliced and polished on one side, in natural black and bluish colors. The amusing zoomorphic visual, even without suffering from an advanced form of pareidolia, represents the profile of a pig.
Magnificent coincidence of the cutting line.
Age: -23 to -5 million years (Miocene period)
Origin: Hungary (Megyaszo)
Dimensions: approximately 7 x 5.5 cm.
Qualitative fossil, entirely natural. Plexiglas base provided on request. Siliceous woods are the result of rapid burial under water of plant remains, protected from strong degradation of organic matter. We are talking about slow mineralization: replacement of the organic matter of each cell of the wood by the surrounding “fluids and particles”, giving their characteristic name of “petrified wood”.
Beautiful, unusual collector's item and curiosity.
