"Important Bronze “glory And Fortune”, By E. Picault – Late 19th Century"
Superb bronze print with brown patina by Emile Louis Picault depicting a man of good stature, walking and sowing, draped in a garment around his waist. On the terrace are represented sheaves of wheat, a compass, a hammer and a drapery annotated “Per Laborem” translating: “by work”. The artist thus highlights different trades and declares that through work we obtain: “Glory and fortune” as indicated on the front of the base.
