Diameter: 53 mm / Thickness: 23 mm / Weight: 93.45 g
The main dial with Arabic numerals indicates the hours and minutes, the second dial indicates the days; there are no flaws on the dial as a whole, no chips, shocks or cracks.
The case is in solid silver 800/000, the back decorated with a guilloché radiating pattern centred on a moving cartouche in a leafy surround (the case back and the suspension button of the hoop are stamped with the Minerve silver hallmark 2nd title).
It should be noted that this case could perhaps be later, as the movement is identical to one found on similar watches by Robert and Courvoisier dating from 1780.
However, if we are dealing here with the original case, this watch was made around 1840; there are no bumps or dents all around the reverse or elsewhere. This watch has a generously curved original crystal that suits it perfectly and highlights the extremely finely painted mythological scene that adorns its dial.
Nevertheless, I would like to point out the following:
That the small gear which is used to maintain the tension of the spring when it is reassembled is missing, in fact when the small shaft at the square end is turned, it seems to turn in a "vacuum"; The chain is present and in place, the balance is normally mobile on its axis and the spiral spring fulfils its function perfectly.
The movement is very clean, free from the slightest trace of rust on the axles or any visible dirt, and seems ready to operate without requiring too much work.
Please also note that the richly decorated cockerel protecting the spiral spring and decorated with a series of lyre motifs is slightly damaged. Two chiselled motifs are affected, one missing for the most part and the other half.
If you are interested, please do not hesitate to make me a fair offer.
