Napoleon III Bookcase Stamped Sormani flag

Object description :

"Napoleon III Bookcase Stamped Sormani"
Superb bookcase with central projection in mahogany and rosewood marquetry, opening three doors including a large one in the center presenting a magnificent marquetry decoration composed of garlands, foliage and a large medallion with quarte-leaf motifs.
The two narrower side doors are meshed.
The upper ogee part is topped with a beautiful royal Belgian marble top.
The lower part is mounted on plinths.
Note that the central door opens all the way to the ground which is a very rare installation, it reveals a beautiful rosewood interior with a large niche open in the lower part with two shelves and in the upper part an opening compartment with a flap door. The side spaces are each equipped with four height-adjustable shelves.
Exceptional work from Sormani, signed on the central lock. Sormani 134 boulevard Haussman Paris, last address of the Sormani dynasty, which allows us to date the production of this piece of furniture around 1915.
Last interesting remark: the three locks are signed (inside) by the house of Linke, one of the brothers of François was in fact a locksmith.

Very good condition, entirely restored by our workshop, natural varnish finish with a buffer (french polish), according to the rules of the art, "selon les règles de l'art".
