"Art Nouveau Earrings Signed Dumont, Ginko Leaves, Silver And Baroque Pearls"
Art Nouveau period earrings, in 925/°° silver (wild boar hallmark), with plant motifs of biloba leaves, signed Dumont, of the Nancy School. The plant theme is very characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement at the beginning of the century, while the ginko biloba leaf in particular is a privileged representation, due to the craze of the time through universal and colonial exhibitions and the interest marked for exoticism. The ginko leaf, and its curved fan shapes, lends itself particularly in this context to its representation through the evocation of Japan, to the culture and to the particularly prized works. The use of silver allows, through its patina, to give a particular, very sculptural relief to the ginko leaves, which envelop two baroque cultured pearls which accompany the movement and contrast with the metal. The impression of softness generated by the curves and the materials of this jewel are very in keeping with the world of Japanese Art Nouveau.
