Rare Louis XV period floor clock. This beautiful model of a Louis no equivalent model. Made by an artisan carpenter who perfectly masters the work of curves, to create this heavily violinated box he used strong sections of walnut to take out the pieces of wood, like the uprights but also the front doors, involving admirable work adjustment, cutting and sculpture with moldings and paneling made in the mass. Concerning the movement, it is surely the original one, it was revised a few years ago and works, it fits perfectly into its housing, it dates from the second half of the 18th century, the facade with a domed enameled dial is inscribed with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, the hands are original, they are in engraved metal, the dial is surmounted by a cast bronze rooster in the middle of an eagle and flowers, the balance also original is a metal pear, it passes behind the weights, the worn chain has been changed.
