Louis XIII Game Table in walnut, 17th century This table dating from the second half of the 17th century appears to be a game table Our table is in walnut. It indeed has a beautiful base turned in dark black baluster on the protruding parts, these 4 legs are joined by an . The belt crosspieces are scalloped and decorated with small turned bobeches, the belt opens with a small drawer on the front. The whole is topped with a slab of Saint Maximin marble resting on a wooden floor made up of 2 boards assembled by dowels and held at the ends by slats taken in tenons and mortises, thus limiting deformation of the wood. The marble slab is surrounded by a molding with corbin fillet and beak in walnut, the molding is kept nailed and doweled. The style and assembly indicate regional work from the end of the 17th century, perhaps from the South West of France. There are some old restorations.
