Object description :

"Pair Of Italian Portraits Paintings From The 18th Century"
COD 0855/4
Antique Italian paintings from the first half of the 18th century. Pair of oil paintings on canvas attributable to the painter Antonio Mercurio Amorosi (1660-1738), lacking authentication. He will work mainly in Rome and following the taste of bambocciate he will perform popular genre scenes that draw inspiration from the life of the common people. In fact, these works are not true portraits but figures of a popular character much sought after by the Roman aristocracy. In the couple in question we see a young boy pouring wine and a splendid lady with a dog, of notable pictorial quality, which can be seen in particular in the creation of the drapery and the meticulous details of the clothes. Pair of paintings that are part of a very rare group of eight paintings (see photo and request the bulk price if still available). Artworks that have undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some small points. Overall in good state of conservation. Sight size H 63 x W 54 cm.
