Bust probably representing Adrian Van Ostade (1610-1685). Patinated terracotta print made by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, around 1850. At this time he created busts of famous people (Beethoven, Murillo, Rembrandt, Charles I and Cromwell...). Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887) owned a prolific workshop at 15 rue de la Tour d'Auvergne in Paris. His apprentice was Auguste Rodin. He devoted himself to decorative sculpture (Hôtel de la Païva...), to the representation of great figures of his time (Napoléon III, Delacroix, Thiers, Grévy...) as well as the past. Our bust is in good condition (possible restoration at the level of the very barely visible hat). Around 1850
