Original etching representing ibises, this is one of the 72 plates enhanced in color, taken from the printing of the "Description of Egypt or Collection of observations and research carried out in Egypt during the French expedition, published by the orders of His Majesty the Emperor Napoleon the Great". This edition was published from 1809 until 1829. Our plate belongs to the Birds series, the study of which was carried out by Jules-César Savigny (1771-1851), famous zoologist who participated in the campaign to 'Egypt . Our proof is in very good condition. It is presented in an old frame.
