"Nude Seated Woman, From Behind, E. Mondineu, 1910"
Oil on canvas representing a young red-haired woman with her hair tied up in a bun, sitting naked in the grass. Great sensuality of the model painted in nature, signed lower right E.MONDINEU, 1910. Etienne MONDINEU entered the fine arts of Bordeaux in 1888, then the fine arts of Paris in 1893 in the workshop of Albert MAIGNAN, sponsored by JP LAURENS and B.CONSTANT. From 1897 he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists where he obtained an honorable mention. He won several distinctions there in 1900 and 1908, the year in which he was awarded out of competition. He can now exhibit without going through jury selection. A member of the Society of French Artists from 1902, he was in all the salons. He tackles large compositions acquired by the state and preserved in public collections, but also focuses on other genres such as landscapes and intimate scenes; the nude and the portrait. 72x61,5 with a Regence style giltwoow frame.
