Original etching representing ducks. This is one of the 72 plates enhanced in color, extracted from the edition of the Description of Egypt or Collection of observations and research made in Egypt during the French expedition, published by the orders of His Majesty l 'Emperor Napoleon the Great. Made between February 1802 and 1829 on the orders of Napoleon Bonaparte and published from 1809 until 1829. Plate belonging to the Birds series, the study of which was carried out by Jules-César Savigny (1777-1851), zoologist who participated in the Egyptian campaign in collaboration with the famous painter Jacques Barraband. Very good state. Sold in an old frame. Around 1809.
