Watercolor enhanced with gouache, signed lower right. Dimensions 30x21cm at sight and 50x21 cm with its frame and Anti-reflection glass. After the Fine Arts of Amiens, Maurice Cahours, settled on the Butte Montmartre in 1911. After the First World War, he frequented Douarnenez and its region. He regularly exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Salon des Artistes Français views of Douarnenez and ND de la joie. He was rewarded in 1928 with a gold medal for his painting “Douarnenez”. He was appointed official painter of the navy in 1942. His canvas panels and watercolors, representing the seaside, with their reflections and lights and those of lively ports are sought after by enthusiasts.
