Georges Delplanque studied at the Douai School of Fine Arts from 1918 to 1923, and presented his first exhibition in 1926. In 1927, he was admitted to the Ecole nationale superieure des fine arts of Paris The following year, he won the Gaudrier prize. In 1929, he presented the paintings Nu (study) and Rue de l'abreuvoir in Semur-en-Auxois at the Salon of French Artists. In 1938, he created murals at the Barbusse school.
