"“young Girl With A Dove” Bronze Signed Sylvestre Clerc "
Bronze statue (lost wax) dated 1929 and signed Sylvestre Clerc, produced by the Parisian foundry Susse Frères (presence of original stamps and marks on the base). The author presents us with a child holding a dove near her face and seeming to share some secrets... Remarkable condition of presentation, original nuanced green patina intact. Sylvestre Clerc was born in Toulouse in 1892, entered the Higher Institute of Arts in his city at the age of 15, it was in 1913 at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris that he continued his training with Jules Coutan. After the devastation of the 14/18 war, his participation in the Salon earned him numerous distinctions, including a Prix de Rome. Artist identified with the Art-Deco movement, sculptor Paul Landowski will use his know-how.
