Gilded bronze sculpture by Léon Fadel and foundry brand Susse Frères. This sculpture is a replica of the Watignies Monument (1893) in Maubeuge."The child with the drum". The child is caught in full swing playing his instrument and shouting “To me, patriot”. Léon Fagel was born on January 19, 1851 in Valenciennes and died on March 20, 1913 in Cousoire (North). He was trained at the National School of Fine Arts in Valenciennes then at the French Academy in Rome from 1880 to 1883 . Léon Fagel had several distinctions including that of the Prix de Rome in 1879. He is present at the Orsay Museum, Louvre Museum, Le Jardin des Plantes Paris, National School of Fine Arts, Père Lachaise Cemetery, Montparnasse Cemetery, Petit Palais in Paris, La Sorbonne, Square Carpeaux etc....... This sculpture is in very good condition. It measures 68 cm in height, its base is a square of 21 cm and its width is 40 cm. Delivery in France.
