Oval plaque in white statuary marble surrounded by an ebonized wooden frame depicting the Immaculate Madonna.The scene is the classic one of Christian iconography which places the Madonna at the center while she crushes the serpent and at the sides a whole host of putti and cherubs.
Kneeling on the left side you can see the figure of an Angel holding a lily in his hand, symbol of purity and chastity.
Condition: Damaged in the upper part.
Provenance: Naples, early 20th century.
