"Georges Laethier The Drinker At The Spring "
Super bronze with a very beautiful patina by Georges Laëthier, sculptor from Bison (1875-1955) was in the spotlight there at the end of January 1914. A student at the Paris School of Fine Arts, he participated in numerous Parisian salons such as those of 1901 and 1903. We find his mention and the work presented in the illustrated catalogs put online on Gallica by the BNF (see below). He obtained an honorable mention in 1901 for a statue of an Old Man drinking from a spring and a third class medal in 1903 for the same sculpture or the portrait of Mr. Gondy. This year, 1903, Camille Claudel exhibited L’Âge mature.
