"Large Box In Ebony, Red Scales And Ivory, Louis XIV Period"
An exceptional and very rare box in ebony, red scales and ivory from the Louis XIV period. Rectangular in shape, it opens onto a rosewood interior at the top and is trimmed at the bottom with green silk fabric. The top is decorated with a large rosette in relief made of red and ivory scales. It rests on six loaf feet decorated with claw-shaped bronzes varnished with fine gold. Very beautiful gold varnished bronze ornamentation such as lifting handles, keyholes and falls.
