"Yixing Teapot Kangxi Chinese Stoneware Qing Dynasty Antique C. 1700 Molded Clay Flattened Pot"
An Yixing stoneware teapot.
Kangxi period, c. 1675-1725.

The body of flattened shape in the form of a lotus flower with molded cartouche panels decorated with deer, butterflies and flowers.

Dimensions:
Width with handle and spout 14.5 cm, diameter body 10.5 cm, height with lid 5 cm.

Ref:
A teapot of similar shape with different decoration is in the Zwinger Dresden collection, Inv. No. PO3891.

Lit:
Three teapots, also of similar shape but with different decorations, are published in Yixing Teapots for Europe by Valfré, Patrice, p. 209, no’s 219/221 and p. 221, no. 285.

Condition:
Some fritting to the knob of the lid and a minor frit to the spout.
