Description:
Terracotta, tin enamel.
This type of pot, which has many names, was used to gently cook food by placing it on the embers (slipping pot, huguenotte, fricot pot, toupin etc.). Depending on the region it has several shapes and materials (copper) but always a handle to grab it without burning yourself.
The Blaye Citadel Museum presents a model very close to this one.
