MENGUY (Frédéric), born in Paris on January 28, 1927 and died in Paris on March 23, 2007 (Ec. Fr.). Very early on, passionate about drawing and painting, Frédéric MENGUY trained in evening classes in the workshops of the city of Paris. In 1956, while an art drawing teacher, he devoted himself entirely to painting and lithography. From 1966, after discovering the Corbières massif where he settled for a time, his painting became very colorful. Patrice de la Perrière paid tribute to him by affirming that behind an ostentatious joy, the paintings of Frédéric MENGUY send us back a certain nostalgia for our childish soul. The works of Frédéric MENGUY appear in many renowned private collections. Some were also acquired by the French state.
