Rare and elegant writing desk from the Napoleon III period in blackened wood inlaid with brass fillets and on its upper part with a monogram numbered SF surmounted by a count's crown. This pretty piece is stamped Pottier F 13 Rue d'Alger on the lock. The box consists in the upper part of a mail box, paper storage, a flap forming the writing part and in the lower part of a side drawer which can contain the necessary writing materials. This drawer has several small compartments, covered or not. Note that the original velvet covering the writing tablet is worn at the hinge. A very beautiful, sober and original piece.
