China, second half of the 18th century, lovely small porcelain dish with stylized floral decoration in blue on a white background. The reverse is equally beautiful and features a mint mark. This piece is quite similar to certain pieces found in the wreck of the Tek Sing boat which sank in 1822 in the South China Sea and found by archaeologists in 1999. The very valuable cargo included many ancient porcelains which could to be up to a hundred years old at the time of the sinking.
Diameter 13.8 cm. Good condition. No chips or cracks.
