"Ancient Star Diamonds Fine Pearl Brooch Pendant"
Old brooch convertible into a pendant and vice versa, representing a star with chiseled decorations and decorated in its center and in applique, with another black enameled star and decorated in applique with old cushion-cut diamonds and fine half-pearls, all held in claws on silver. An open round ring forms the bail and can be removed. A pin with safety hook that folds down can also be removed. A rack and pinion system allows the central star studded with diamonds to be removed. This part could be positioned on another ancient jewel which unfortunately has not reached us.Period: 19th century
Main material: yellow gold, 750 thousandths, 18 carats, horse's head hallmark and silver.
Total weight of diamonds: approximately 1 carat.
Proportions: Height: approximately 4.5 cm, width: approximately 4.3 cm, thickness: approximately 13 mm.
Net weight: approx. 19.4g.
Authentic old jewel - French work from the second half of the 19th century.
Our opinion: Old jewelry on the theme of the stars is characteristic of the second half of the 19th century. This old transformation brooch was part of a much larger set.
