"Gnathian Skyphos"
Skyphos - Large gnathian wine vase Great Greece, southern Italy Dating from the 4th-3rd BC Large wine vase painted black, with a winged head in its center, representing Eros. The decorative frieze on top presents geometric motifs in the shape of meanders or Greek keys, typical of ancient Greek art. Under the geometric frieze, we can observe a series of hanging plant motifs, alternating with leaf-shaped motifs and wine grapes
