Portrait of a young French army officer, He wears a blue frock coat with a red collar, silverplated or silver buttons. He has long powdered hair and a gold ring in his right ear as was quite common at that time, that is to say under the Directory.
This portrait will be compared to the pastel portrait of Count Félix Philippe Charles d'Hunolstein, peer of France (1778/1838) kept in a private collection (see photo).
