"Chinese Style Lacquered Mirror, 19th Century"
This Chinese-style lacquered mirror dates from the 19th century. It has a red and black lacquered wooden structure, decorated with geometric patterns. The upper part of the frame is decorated with painted scenes depicting vines and branches. The mirror itself is made of mercury, an ancient mirror-making technique which gives a particular patina to the reflection.
