"Floor Clock With Two Automata."
Extremely rare carved floor clock, made around 1750, surmounted by two polychrome wooden jacquemarts dressed in popular clothing striking the hours and a half on a brass bell. To date, no private collection or international museum has clocks topped with jacquemarts, which makes this clock an extremely rare, even unique, example! If the body has been repainted in its original color and the sculpted ornaments re-gilded with gold leaf, on the other hand the two jacquemarts have retained their original polychromies! As for the mechanism made of steel and brass, it was specially made to drive the two jacquemarts controlled by completely original vertical transmission axes in wrought iron! Please note, the églomisé glass dial has been remade based on the original dial. Original engraved steel hands. Weight mechanism lasting one day. Height: 2.64 m Width: 61 cm Depth: 26 cm
