Pair of pistols called "à la miquelet" with bronze and silver trim by Michele Battista, second half of the 18th century.

Round cannons striated in the first third, smooth to the mouth, ending with a fine bead.
Thumb piece with a crowned coat of arms.
Belt hook finely cut with the fixing screw.
The Naples factory had at that time a small production of luxury pieces that provided princely families.
Length: 36 cm
The names of the best master gunsmiths of the
Fabbrica are little known today (except that of Master Michele Battista), but other names have been
Discovered thanks to recent archive surveys:
Giovanni Moretti, Nicola Simeone, Pietro Ferrara,
Emanuel Estevan, Carlo Labruna, Biagio Ignesti, Natale del Moro, etc...
A very rich collection of objects produced by the Royal Manufacture of Naples Royal is now present at the Capodimonte Museum in Naples, and in the most important museums in the world.
With the unification of Italy, the factory was gradually
Downgraded, passing under the administration of the royal army first, then of the Italian army, until 1901 when
The production of firearms stopped completely.
